This week we are showing the guys a little love and talking about looks for them on the big day. Choosing the right look for your guy (because just between us girls, we know who will likely be selecting the groom’s attire… wink), boils down to a few considerations: the time of day you will be married, the location of the ceremony, how formal the event will be, and of course, your vision for the day.
Your day should reflect your personal style so consider the following as merely suggestions:

Evening | Tux (white or black jacket), vest, white shirt, bow-tie or long tie in solid white or black | Black Suit or Tux, white shirt, black or white long solid tie, patterned vest, pocket square | Black or Gray Suit, dress shirt, bow-tie or long tie in wedding colors, no vest, pocket square in a pop of color | Gray or khaki trousers, dress shirt, no tie, coordinating vest
Afternoon | Black Suit or Tux, vest, white shirt, black or white long solid tie | Gray Suit, long solid or tone-on-tone tie with dress shirt in a same color hue (consider gray or platinum), vest optional | Sport Coat with gray or khaki trousers, dress shirt, ties are optional, consider replacing the sport coat with a coordinating vest | Button up shirt in coordinating wedding color, khakis, no coat, no tie, fun shoes (think sandals, cowboy boots, custom tennis shoes)

We encourage you to spice up your guys look (and his best bros) by adding a quirky bow-tie, a bright tie, a pocket square that coordinates with your girls, a tie clip, fun socks, stylish shoes, cuff links, or suspenders. If you are after a modern look, go with a vest rather than cummerbund and a long tie instead of a bow-tie. Also consider that the boutonnieres do not need to all be the same. Perhaps ask the florist to keep them all in your color scheme but make the arrangements slightly different.
Whether your preferred look is classic, rustic, or modern, there are many choices for your guys beyond the basic tux. Keeping in mind the overall theme of your wedding when selecting styles, colors, and material will ensure that the wedding party has an overall cohesive look that supports your vision.
