We’re going to try our best to keep this from becoming a shameless plug all about us (smile), but some of that may slip in. Actually, we have some great information on this very topic on our F.A.Q. tab so we will try not to regurgitate what you can read there. That being said, here we go!
Aside from assuring yourself that the photographers you have narrowed your choices to are providing you with two professional photographers, have your date available, and are within your budget, choosing the perfect studio to capture your wedding day can be boiled down to two important questions:
- Do you like them personally?
As the title suggests, picking your photographers IS a bit like figuring out which friends to go to prom with. There will be lots of planning, dressing up, proud family send off, and of course the party. The vendors that you select are not only helping to make the event divine, they will be sharing the day with you… sometimes a very long day! Look early and select vendors that are creative, fun, and just as excited for your big day as you are. Try asking yourself, “Do I like how I feel when I am with them?” Did we mention you will be spending A LOT of time with your photographers?! Like, A LOT! Spending that time with two fun, creative, hard-working, stylish, glamour-loving, pink passioned, connoisseurs of sparkly, photography gals, can be nothing short of Elegante Light bliss! (That may have been the shameless plug slip I mentioned… was it too much?)
- Do you like their style?
The good news is that you don’t need to know all of the intricacies of photography styles to answer this. Style is a personal expression! Check out their studio, the way they dress, the way they communicate and interact with you, their social media presence, and of course their work. Try asking yourself two questions, “Do I like what I see?” and “Does this work with my vision?” We encourage you to meet with prospective photographers at their studio so that you can really get a good read on their style. This is so important because as artists, style heavily influences our work and you will want to know up front if a particular studio is a good fit for you.
There are many fads that come and go, even in photography! Finding a studio with a style and personality that speaks to you and your vision will be key to ending up with images that are timeless, beautiful, but more importantly, touch your heart.
Happy planning!
